>:(Has your bin been emptied yet? Ours has not. And to be quite honest I am sick of it. I live in a cul de sac and every resident in the street has put the bin out in the street ready for collection as nobody knows when they wil be emptied. Stray dogs (that dont seem to be collected anymore by the council dog warden) and cats have broke the bags and there is food and rubbish everywhere. Now then! What was the price of the new Council Offices in Penalta? Would they like to have all our rubbish on their doorstep. Also are we going to get a reduction with our council for living in filth? I thik probably not.

Hhhmmm, good point! I tell you what really bugs me...the fact that our recycling has to be picked up around the front of the house, whereas the rubbish bins are around the back. We fill three recycling bins every fortnight, sometimes to overflowing. I would prefer not to have this in my front garden, as do many in my street, who, as a result, refuse to recycle. I would also prefer it if Caerphilly Council collected recycling weekly. If you forget, which I sometimes do, its piling up for a month and blowing everywhere in the wind!!! It would be perfect if they collected all bins on the same day from the same place wouldnt it!? Still, you can only please some of the people some of the time...
Oh and another thing - I wish the recycling men would be a little more considerate - they throw my bins half way down the road, and have even left loose leaflets in them which blew everywhere and I had to go collecting them from other gardens! The council has to maintain recycling targets, so I think they could do a lot more to encourage others to recycle by making it easier for them!

Good point Larny! Our bins were looking a little full too, but they have finally been emptied. If we are going to pick holes in Cearphilly Council, I Have A List!!! But I aint got the time to go through all of them, but one thing that really made me sick the other day was I walking on Sir Ivors Road near the roundabout by St. Augustine's Church on the right hand side when I saw that 2 council vans parked on the pavement and on double yellow lines. This always makes me a little angry. I had a buggy with me as I had my young son with me. Now generally I will push past and if the vehicle and if it gets scratched, well I am sorry, but I always thought that drivers paid Road Tax, not Pavement Tax. Why should I have to walk out in to the middle of the road with my son in his buggy? I looked behind to see if there was anyone that I could speak to about the situation and guess what. They were hid in a doorway having a break. If I had y mobile telephone with me I would have taken a pic and reported it. Wait till I see the same thing again when I have my new cool delivery trolley!!.lol
