I loved watching "Cranford" and "Larkrise to Candleford" and am now enjoying "Gavin and Stacey". Does anyone remember "Emergency Ward Ten" "Compact" and "Crossroads"? The early ones I mean. I know I'm showing my age!

I used to watch Crossroads when I was younger, I remember Benny I think his name was in a bobble hat. But I do remember Prisoner Cell Block H. I used to love that programme. B Smith was a star.

He used to bring me roses, I wish he would again, but that was on the outside, and things were different then! La la la la... (yes, very la -la!!) Remeber the dodgy set that used to wobble and shake on Prisoner Cell Block H? That reminds me, what about that other dodgy Australian soap, Sons & Daughters? And Take the High Road in Scotland? oooo, The Sullivans? Dont remember many of the above mentioned tho, I'm more of the wombles, the flumps, Bagpuss kinda gal. Mona - we are big fans of Gavin and Stacey here! It's great when you can identify with a place you know isnt it? That's probably why we love the very gritty Belonging too, anyone else a fan?

GGRRRR. I hated The Sulivans. Whenever I blagged a day off school my mam would make me watch that and Take The High Road. Then I wished I had gone to school. Great choice Larny

I loved the Sullivans but I think it ran about 3 times as long as the 2nd World War itself! Does anyone remember that daytime tv show set in a studio but pretending to be someone's house. The doorbell would ring when someone would come in..."Houseparty"? Yes larny, I remember Cell Block H...it used to depress me. Everyone someone was released it wouldn't take them two minutes to land back inside. Used to love The High Chapperal (sp) and fell in love with "Blue"!!

Oh what, are you kidding... Sitting round here watching TV, turn it off, no good to me, so whyyyyyy dont you? I loved hart beat too with Tony Hart and Morph! Oh and no.73 on a Saturday morning! Does anyone remember a comedy starring Bruce Forsyth as a store manager? I'm sure I didnt dream it, but no one seems to know what i'm on about! I did dream that Ken Boon (Michael Elphick) saved me once though, but it wasnt as weird as the one where I married...RICKY MARTIN!!! Well, it could happen...

No Larny, you didn't dream it... I remember the sit-com with Bruce Forsyth as the manager of a supermarket, he stepped in to take over when the great actor Leonard Rossiter died (Reggie Perrin/Rigsby). Anyone remember "Shoestring"? a radio-detective based in Bristol can't remember the name of the actor but he is on tv in a police drama every so often - married the actress who did the coffee adverts with the chap who went on to be in Buffy and to play the PM in Little Britain.

Ah Mona thank goodness, dont suppose you remember what it was called? Nope dont remember Shoestring, sorry but the fella in Buffy and Little Britain is Anthony Head and the woman from the coffee adverts is Cherie Lunghi, so now all we need to know is who did she marry? Actually, my Dad works in London during the week and recently stayed next door to Cherie Lunghi and they used to say "good morning" to each other! This gives me an idea! ;D

Sorry Larny it wasn't Cherie Lunghi she was the one in the Kenco coffee ads. No, I can see this woman's face but her name is escaping me...it will come back to me... Sharan Maughan!!!! phew! ;D

Well done, Mona. hhhmmm, dont think I've ever heard of that actress? Still, it gave me a good idea - have you seen the claim to fame thread. Tell us a story there if youve had a brush with fame??
