My lovely ol nan, bless her soul, always told her grown up children, who by now had kiddies of their own, "Dont smack your children - they'll take enough knocks in life."
Sound advice made all the more poignant when you think she brought up nine!

One from my late father: "Good books like good food will always help and sustain but bad books are a poison to the soul and to the brain."

Thank you for that, Mona.
I always told my only son he'd never be lonely as long as he read books! Read them - he devours them!!

One from my late mother: "If life was a thing that money could buy The rich would live and the poor would die. Yet God in His power has willed it so that the rich and the poor to the grave must go." Mmmm...with the Postcode lottery on who gets what treatment I'm not so sure!
