My son has been bulied in his school for over a year by the same group of children. After many visits to the school, the problem is still the same. When we have spoke to the headteacher about the situation, we always get the same response, " There is no bullying in this school". If the headteacher does not think there is a problem, what can I do? Is there anybody that I can speak to higher than the headteacher about the sitiuation?
With thanks

If you are not satisfied with the headteacher’s response then I think you should ask for your concerns to be considered by the school’s governing body. This will ensure the matter is raised and fully discussed with fellow parents and governors of the school and possibly a representative of the local authority too.

I was saddened by your story, guest. It's bad enough your child is being bullied, without the hassle of the school not responding!
All state funded schools are required to have procedures in place to deal with complaints. Ask for a copy of the complaints procedure as your next step. This may be enough to make them sit up and take appropriate action!
There's lots of information on the directgov website which can help you. Bullying is unacceptable - we must make a stand for our children. Good on your child for telling you too! We should all encourage our children to be open about these things.
Lots of luck
